Prayer Ministry of Union Presbyterian Church

Union Presbyterian Church offers a comprehensive prayer ministry serving members of the church as well as the community. Prayer ministers have been trained extensively by our pastor, Reverend Mary D. D’Alessio, as well as through classes offered by Christian Healing Ministries based in Jacksonville, Florida. Most prayer ministers have completed Levels I, II, and III in CHM’s  School of Healing Prayer. In addition to corporate worship services of prayer, individual prayer sessions are available. For more information or to schedule a session of healing prayer, please call the church office at 325 646-8569.

Soaking Prayer--Union Presbyterian Church is hosting weekly Soaking Prayer Services each Wednesday at noon.  The services last one hour.  There is no preaching, no singing, no talking, and no offering is collected.  Those who come for prayer are met at the sanctuary doors, welcomed, and given written instructions and a slip of paper on which they may (if they so desire) write their first name and a prayer request.  They are then seated in the sanctuary where music is being softly played.  Trained prayer ministers quietly move through the sanctuary taking turns standing behind each person who has come for prayer.  Silent prayers of blessing are offered for each person and silent petitions are raised for requests that have been made.  Individuals can stay the full hour or leave quietly as needed.

Online Daily Prayer Guide--The daily reflection series at the link below provides an opportunity to reflect on themes that impact our faith journey and then encourages the participant to create a quiet space for contemplation and prayer.  The daily meditation guide can be found at the following link.  Daily Prayer Guide

Prayer Requests--Whether you are a member of Union Presbyterian Church or not, you are welcome to submit a prayer request.  Members and friends of Union Presbyterian will pray for you or your loved one.  To submit a prayer request, click on the following link.  Prayer Request
